TRINIDAD MERCHANTS SPONSOR SAFE TRICK-OR-TREATS AND COSTUME CONTEST FOR KIDS ON HALLOWEEN

Thanks to the help of Grace Christian School Service Class student volunteers who canvassed area businesses to solicit participation, just over 100 Trinidad merchants have signed up to participate in this year’s Safe Trick-or-Treats for Kids on Wednesday, October 31st from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Main Street, from east of Animas to west of Chestnut, and Commercial Street, from south of Cedar to Main Street, will be closed to traffic during these hours to ensure the safety of the trick-or-treaters.

Participating businesses will be voting for their favorite costumes for the costume contest sponsored by The First National Bank in Trinidad. Each participating merchant was given 10 “voting tokens” to award to their favorite costumed trick-or-treaters as they visit their establishment. Trick-or-treaters who received tokens are invited to return to The First National Bank lobby at 5:00 p.m. for a tally of the “votes”. The top three costume contest winners will receive a prize. Watch for winners’ photographs in the newspaper. Have a safe and Happy Halloween!
