Branch to Celebrate 30 Years

In the fall of 1993, The First National Bank in Trinidad opened the Huerfano County Branch in Walsenburg to fill the need for banking services in the area. At the time, people were driving 40 or 50 miles to bank with The First National Bank in Trinidad and loan demand was on the rise. First National opened the branch with nine employees commitment to providing positive, progressive and professional banking services with customer satisfaction as the goal.

Deposits in the branch were designated to satisfy local loan demand and to contribute toward community growth and development. Today, deposits have grown to $66 million and loans are in excess of $37 million.

Over the past 30 years, the Branch has experienced growth beyond its expectations and has enjoyed watching the community expand and prosper. Changes in banking have afforded the branch an opportunity to provide customers with personal service coupled with high-tech access to their money through online and mobile banking. Branch outreach programs provide support for local children through the annual School Supply Drive and North Pole Gift Tree. With fourteen full-time employees and three part-time employees, there is always a smiling face ready to help.

Branch President, Keith Varner, invites you to join them at the Anniversary Fiesta Celebration on Friday, September 15th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Huerfano County Branch, 135 W. Sixth Street in Walsenburg. Festivities will include free Mexican fare, live entertainment, games, prizes and give aways.
