Kathy Trujillo, beloved friend and valued employee of The First National Bank in Trinidad, passed away on
March 4, 2008. Kathy was born in Trinidad on April 7, 1955, the daughter of Antonio Lee Armijo and Adella (Sanchez) Armijo,
both deceased. Kathy was the mother of four children, Katrina (John) McLaughlin, Bobby (Robin) Sanchez, Michael and Joseph
Trujillo, and was married for 21 years to Richard Trujillo, all of Trinidad. She was a grandmother of two.
Kathy began her employment with the First National Bank in Trinidad on January 28, 1993 in the bookkeeping
department. Later she became a teller and was promoted to a teller supervisor in 2000. Kathy also worked as a loan payment
teller for awhile before becoming the main telephone receptionist, new accounts clerk and safe deposit box clerk. In May
2007, she began working in loan collections and was promoted to Assistant Vice President and Assistant Collection Officer in
December 2007, just prior to her 15-year anniversary with the Bank.
Kathy always put her heart into her work and had a way with people that made them feel at ease. Her
undeniable sense of humor made her a joy to work with, and customers of the Bank sought her out because of her charismatic
way of making them feel at home when doing their banking. In her recent position as collection officer she excelled because
of her ability to relate to customers and help them through difficult financial circumstances. Kathy was not only an asset to
the Bank as an employee, but also as a co-worker and friend. She was a part of a family of people who loved her and enjoyed
her laughter and friendship. She will be sadly missed by all of us at First National Bank, her family, customers, and many,
